Book studies
By E

Clip to ScrapBook
We did teacher book studies in our building last year for the first time. My advice is start small. We ran 2 groups that had 5-7 member in each. We found that it was very hard to find a time when all that wanted to meet could get together. One group met after school and my group met before school and had a light breakfast together as we talked.
Our staff development committee purchased the books and gave each participant a small stipend for participating. We met once a week for about 8 weeks. We used the text "Brain Matters". Sometimes we discussed the questions at the end of the chapters and other times just discussed what we found interesting, ideas that we'd like to try, or questions and clarification of ideas.
