kindergarten is like babysitting?

I have been teaching K for most of my career. It is my absolute most favorite grade. You will find more growth than in any other grade. The children soak up everything like a sponge. If you think that K is going to be babysitting you really need to do your research. K has become a totally academic environment in many places. Our children are emersed in literacy and develop the same subject areas as any other grade. Actually. children in K should come in knowing their alphabet already, and due to the quality of literature you expose them to are far more advanced then you think they are.....Of course, it is not for everyone, but you might want to give it a chance. You might be surprised! I would not trade anyone for a different grade.
