writing process
By lorraine

Clip to ScrapBook
I use a writing chart in my class, it is divided into the different stages of the writing process. The first line is the sloppy copy line, all of the students have their own markers or just a card with their name on it. Their card stays there until they are ready for the next stage which is the buddy editing.

In the [buddy editing] stage, they have to have two other people in the class look at the work that they have done, also I give them a rubric to follow when they are editing with their buddies. After that they put their card in the final draft section, this is when I look at it. I only allow about six cards at a time on this level. If they have to wait then they go and work on another story.
