EM
By KB

Clip to ScrapBook
Always plan to use the games... when you run out of time- the instinct is to skip over these- but don't!! They are so fun and crucial for helping kids make the connection. We used EM for years and then recently adopted Harcourt.
The only thing that wasn't my favorite part of EM was that there never seemed to be mastery of anything. Yes- the spiraling curriculum is wonderful- but sometimes it was too much and never let us get DEEP into multiplication, or whatever we were studying! ANother difficult part of EM was the language- make sure your parents are reading the newsletters that explain it- when you have
an open house or PTO- take advantage of that time to really explain it... it is very different than what most people were taught with, so it increases parent anxiety level!
