star of the week
By JJ

Clip to ScrapBook
I also do a bulletin board and let each child bring things in to share on his or her "star week". Also during that week the star may invite his or her family in to do something special for the class. And during a writing period, the star sits in a special chair and is interviewed by the class. They ask cute questions like, What's your favorite flavor of ice cream? Do you have a pet? Etc. Then each child chooses one fact that he/she learned and writes it in a sentence and draws a picture. Then all of these pages are put together to make a book about the star for the star to take home. While the kids are working on their pages, the star gets to design the cover for the book (sheet of tagboard). They love the book!
