popcorn

I wish I could find the pre-made popcorn bb cutouts! Anyway, I used the idea for a writing board in 5th grade. I used plain paper for the background, used real popcorn bags for the border, and then made a popcorn popper cut-out. My heading was "5th grade is poppin' out" and then I wrote a statement on a popcorn cut-out and they had to finish it with their own idea. It was only one sentence but could be expanded for essays in 7th and 8th grade. I used to teach 7-8 and they love to see their work up for all to view even though they usually grumble about it. I would change the sentence about once every two weeks. I would use sentences like, "If I were to meet one famous person, it would be ______ and I would ask him/her _________."
