cursive
By Chantal

Clip to ScrapBook
I have found that it is easier to have them write everything in cursive so that it gets into their muscle memory. I do not worry about it in math class, but all rough drafts, notes, homework, etc... gets written in cursive.
It is really amazing how quickly kids adapt. They will complain a lot and then they get used to it. I also explain to children that they will write faster than they print once they have practiced enough. I offer alphabet strips to all of them at the beginning of the school year and have the letters over the chalkboard. (This really helps the kids who have not really used cursive for
anything except handwriting!)
I have done this the past 3 years and the improvement I have seen both in handwriting AND writing speed are worth the effort. try it and see..........
