TFK
By Azure

Clip to ScrapBook
Hey there! I have used TFK for the past few years and have loved it. There's a teacher at my school that made a worksheet to go along with the TFK, which included summaries, main points, captions, vocabulary, etc. I didn't
particularly like this approach because my students weren't doing well on the regurgitating aspect of this assignment. Another downfall of this approach is that my students weren't all at the reading level that the TFK was. It was hard for them to do it independently.

I ended up doing it as a whole group reading. I would call on a student. They got to pick the article they wanted and

they read it outloud. Then we would discuss it. I used it more as a discussion and current events tool instead of a reading assignment. My students loved to read it and discuss it together.
