Clip to ScrapBook
I also use the student #'s. Everything is then numbered in my room. I've been able to recycle folders for centers, anything that has to do w/ filing for the student. Also the text books that are passed out...all of #1's books have a 1 on them etc.

The first year I did this a mother couldn't believe that her child knew all of the children's names and in alphabetic order too! Then I explained about the # system.

One other tool I use--Get tongue depressors and write the kids name or number on it. When I want to randomly choose someone, I pick a stick from the bucket. When I let the kids call on each other for reviews I let them pick a stick rather than always calling on friends. This actually become part of the game. So many uses.
