First Day Fun - School Scavenger Hunt
By Mary

Clip to ScrapBook
I made a class set of binoculars by gluing together two toilet paper rolls, spray painting them gold, and adding a string to wear around their necks (punch a hole one either side of the binoculars and tie a string throught
he hole.) and voila! a class set of magic binoculars. The kids think it is funny...then, we go on a scavenger hunt all around the school to reacquaint the students with the school campus. This is especially helpful for new students, and good for returning students to get their bearings from the new classroom.
I type up a list of things the students need to look for on our hunt:
the restrooms, Mrs. Porter's room, the nurse's office, the media center, the monkey bars, etc. Each student brings a clipboard, a pencil, the check-off sheet, and of course the binoculars to help them look for the special things and places! Have fun!
