I agree with the student #s idea. It works wonderfully.
I have a 6 drawer organizer, one of those plastic things on wheels you can buy at an office supply store, kmart, walmart, etc. I've labeled one drawer each for
Mon.-Fri. I put all of the materials and handouts etc. I've had copied for each day in the appropriate drawer. I find it keeps me very organized. I use the bottom drawer for things we'll be working on in the future, but I'm not sure when.
Another thing I do is have a label on the outside of my cupboard doors telling what's inside (very useful for the kids or a sub).
I also take
a picture of our closet of indoor recess games when it's organized, and hang it inside the door. When the kids go to clean it up, they know where everything should go to keep things tidy.
