Critters in the classroom

This situation is absolutely a health hazard and you should insist that, given the extent of the infestation of vermin, the building be professionally exterminated. We're not talking about one or two mice here. Most any
building can have that and deal with it. What you are describing is evidence of a serious infestation and the only way to adequately deal with it, that is safe for all concerned, is to have professional extermination. In fact, you might want to relay your concerns to your administration in just that way: that the safety, health, and well-being of of the entire school community is
at risk unless professionals are called in.

You might want to touch base with your union to find out how best to get the matter resolved quickly. If it were me in your situation, there is no way on God's green earth that I would be responsible for cleaning up the mess.
