classroom money
By Chris

Clip to ScrapBook
Hey! I do classroom money with my third graders and I love it. I first make the money according to my classroom theme so last year I had 5, 10, 20, 50, and 100 bills with ocean animals on them. I reward them for anything
positive (returning forms on time, transitioning quickly, etc.) and I fine them $10 for anything inappropriate (talking in the halls, not doing homework, rude comments, etc.)
I had my kids come up with things that they wanted to "buy" from me. Mostly my kids just wanted to eat lunch with the teacher ($150), treat from the treat jar ($50), or prize from the prize box ($75). I also
offered things like ten minutes comp. time or sitting at the teacher's desk for a day, but they didn't do these hardly ever. Let me know if you want a copy of my complete program and I'll send one your way.
