first grade ideas
By Amy

Clip to ScrapBook
Hi! I have made meny transitions from teaching regular third grade my frist year of teaching;then primary and middle school behavior disordered children; then autistic students. Next was primary special ed., then primamy
learning disabled, and finally I have been teaching first grade now... It is like a first yr. teacher all over again when you teach different grade levels, but I really do like first grade. They are more needier in first grade than the students you have taught in the 2nd and 3rd grades, but the curriculum is fun to teach. It is more basic than the older grades, so you do not need as
much time to really look at a lesson to see how to teach it, but you do need to have plenty of activities the students can work on when they are finished with their assignmentsm as you will probably have some students you know how to read getting into first grade and others who need more help.
