Core French...
By Ally

Clip to ScrapBook
I have taught core French for grades 4 thru to 7...what program will you be using? Our district uses Activie (my spelling may be off...it doesn't look right but I can't think...too hot here!)

But before I jump into the
program, I spend a month or so covering the basics...numbers, days of the week, months of the year, weather expressions, greetings, how to ask for things etc. I usually play lots of games to reinforce this vocab...which is fun and non-threatening to those not comfortable with French. I also set up a calendar, which I lead at first then hand off to students...it covers the date, weather,
seasons, colors and then whatever other vocab we are learning.

You could start off the year with this type of review or you could jump into a unit covering school related vocabulary...I have a fair bit of material and game ideas so if you want to email me, feel free...good luck!
