To take the job or not...

I don't think I would want the job...I think I would find it too hard to be in a school setting and not doing the job I loved and was qualified for. I would also worry that I would be passed over in the future for teaching| jobs b/c I was working as an aide. (I have read other posts where people are over qualified for their job but can't getting teaching position b/c the district or principal wants to keep such a great "aide") I would TOC (substitute teach) until a position came up for me as I would still be teaching, just not my own classroom. a steady paycheque, then maybe the aide position is your only choice for right now. If you did decide to take it, I would still apply for teaching jobs. As you said, last minute hiring seems to happen more often than not in this profession.Good Luck...Ally
