With these things I sometimes give the children a certain amount of money to spend or they write a shopping list eg 1 packet of biscuits 10c, 1 carton milk 5c. They add the amounts together. You could photocopy coins out and when the children write a list they must glue the amount they need at the bottom of their list. Because they are year 2's don't make it too hard. Look at the animals on the coins. I spend a lot of time working on how can I make 20c, eg 5c,5c,5c,5c, 10c and 10c, 20c, 5c,5c and 10c. Even simple counting of money.
