something I do

Clip to ScrapBook
Hi
to go along with the magnetic alphabet letters I use the cookie sheet and play this spelling game with my kids and they just love it...in a small grouping of 2 - 5 kids
I always tell the kids I'm going to try to
fool or stump them and I usually bet them a sticker that I can fool them during the game...of course they just eat that up
I say spell Hot....ok now only change one letter and make it say hat...ok change one letter and make it say ham....and so forth...you get pretty good at changing the words so that the game flows...you can change any letter of course...the vowels are tricky so I often
don't begin with those...but it amazed me how quickly I could move into vowels and even 4 letter words...
this is easy to do quickly for 5 min at the end of your reading or even spelling lesson and as I said the kids just love this little game
