Reading Logs
By Sandra

Clip to ScrapBook
Hi - I found a great site for reading. It is www.lauracandler.com. You go to the file cabinet and then to accelerated reader. There is a short form (which I use)and a long form for reading logs. My student's goal is to
read for 120 minutes a week. They just write the name of the book they are reading and the number of minutes they read each night. Parents initial the box to the right. When they have 120 or more minutes read they cut out the half sheet and turn it in signed at the top. I had a bookworm that I added segments to and each time someone turned in a half sheet I filled out the segment and
added it to the worm. We tried to get all the way around the room by the end of the school year. Each student added up their minutes at the end of the school year. One student had over 7000 minutes.
This was part of their homework each night. Hope this helps.
I'm from Aberdeen, S.D. but live in Minnesota now.
