what to read

Clip to ScrapBook
Hi,

I like Snot Stew by Bill Wallace. It's REALLY funny, and the kids just LOVE it. There's even a unit that goes along with it. I'll look it over this weekend, and post a few ideas from it...I think it even has vocabulary,
questions from each chapter, etc...

Also, I like the Ramona books. They're a bit longer, but the first week of school, I usually read aloud to them more often and that helps to get through the book.

In Texas, we have "Bluebonnet Books" that are available to us. The state (I guess there's a committee) chooses 20 books that appeal to kids from 1st all the way up to 7th or 8th

grade. I like to pick a few from that list each year that are shorter to read aloud. There's always great ones on the list, especially for Third Graders.
I'll see if I can find a site that lists all twenty and post it on this board.

Karolin
