parent letters
By Lori Bodnar

Clip to ScrapBook
The kids at my school also have agendas. At the end of each day the students will write a message for their parents or guardians. The agend is to be signed and returned the next morning. Agendas are very helpful if you
need to write just a little note regarding supplies, school work, behaviour etc. I found this very useful for communicating back and forth between school and home. I also do something called "Friday binders". Every 2nd Friday I write a letter home to the families describing special events, what we are learning, etc. The students will also write a letter telling their parents what they
learned about or did in school over the past two weeks. We brainstorm the ideas orally and the students write the letter on their own without assistance with spelling etc. The parents get a very good idea of what writing and printing skills their child has mastered and what they still need to improve upon. The parents then write a letter back and they are read the students each Monday morning. Hope this helps. There were so many awesome ideas posted.
