Clip to ScrapBook
I posted a reply on the 4-6 board about my doubts about the program. There are 5 exercises and therefore, the kids have from Monday through Fri to complete the packet. It is homework. I introduce the words on Monday and
talk about them.... this year I think, since my whole team has adopted the program, that I will use it every other week, and on Monday we will discuss in depth, spelling patterns, synonyms, parts of speech, etc, more than I did this year. It is very hard to grade, and takes forever...that's what I hate about it too... I don't want it to be busy work and sometimes I think it is...so I get
torn. On Fri I make up a quiz, usually a regular one and a modified one for SPED kids... anyway, the alternating week I use Vocab Cartoons, great book , red cover, I am unsure of the publisher...hope this helps... the words will come up so much in their reading. Though I am not sure it is appropriate for grade 4. It is still challenging for my fifth graders..hope I helped!!! CHRIS
