Don't think of it that way

Clip to ScrapBook
I student taught 6th grade LA. It was SOOO much fun. For handing in work, get those letter trays and jumbo clips (black ones with the fold down clip part). Sorry I don't know what they are called Just have each class
collect their papers and put them in their assigned letter tray. These trays can stack so they don't take up much room. Then, at the end of the day, take each stack out of the bin and clip them. Put a post it on the top paper saying what period they are from. This worked really well, and made it easy when it came time to pass back work.

As far as breaking up the bell. Don't think

of it as breaking it up. I always opened the class with DOL (grammer). Then no matter what we were doing, a novel, project, basal, I always incorporated everthing in to it. If there was a novel, each chapter would have spelling words, a journal entry, reading a chapter, etc. I hope this helps. I am new too
