no classroom theme
By JennyBC

Clip to ScrapBook
I've noticed that many american teachers have classroom themes. That's actually something that I haven't seen up here where I teach (in Canada). Doesn't mean people don't do it, I just haven't seen it. So no, I don't have
a classroom theme. I would like centers that extend/enrich the learning in the classroom, and are fun activities for those done their work. So I'm thinking of individual or pair activities. It would be neat if they could write things on the bulletin board when they're done (no paper work). One that I've thought of is to have a "Making Words" board, where I'll have them make words
using given letters, then find the mystery word (4-blocks). They could write all the words they find on the board, then others could add to it. That's the sort of idea I'm looking for. Idealy, I'd like cross-curricular topics, but I'd be happy to have lots of Language Arts and Math centers. Can you help?

Here's the general SS/Science topics in grade 4:
-First Nations (Native Americans)
-Explorers
-Mapping
-Human Body
-Electricity
-Simple Machines
-Adaptations of Organisms
-Geology
