I'm a Canadian, but my brother has lived in the Denver area now for three years. In fact I'm visiting him right now.

I can't say much about the schools and the system although I've heard good things about the education system in Colorado overall.

Cost of living at least in the Denver area is fairly high. I know housing is definitely high - the average house is around $190,000. There are areas that are lower in price but not many from what I've seen. So depending on where your fiance is promoted to you'll want to check into the housing in that area. I know rentals are also fairly high. When my brother first moved here, they had an apartment (2 bedrooms I believe) and it was around $1100.00 per month. Again I think there are cheaper areas but sometimes you are limited because the Denver area is so spread out that you have to look for housing as close to your work as possible.

On another note though, I really love Colorado. I've been here for 3 summers now and there's always something new to see. The weather is hot but most places are air-conditioned. And the mountains make the landscape really nice.
