Letters By Jennifer in OK

I do several different things with mine. I have a letter about myself for our Meet Your Teacher (day before school starts). This just tells a little personal info about me, things I did over the summer, and some special| training I've gone to. I also give contact info (email, web page, phone number) and let parents know that more info will be handed out at Open House. At Open House, I have 4 or 5 items I give parents. One has my teaching techniques, meaning an overview of what we will be studying throughout the year. I also have another one that I call Classroom Procedures. This explains my homework | | policy, test policy, etc. I give my parents a grading scale and a copy of our classroom rules with consequences/rewards spelled out. I ask that parents go over it with their child and return the signed portion at the bottom. This lets me know that they are aware of the routine of handling discipline in the class. I copy each thing on a different color of paper. It makes for easy reference the night of Open House ("Turn to the pink page..").If you would like examples of a couple, please email me. I would be happy to share them.
