pollywogs
By CC

Clip to ScrapBook
We had pollywogs in the library. The kids loved watching them turn into frogs. They are very easy to take care of. They like to eat the dirt, or whatever is in the water. I also fed them small amounts of fish food. They
aren't picky about having clean water or a pump. We had them in a plastic container with holes punched in the lid. Be sure if you put a lid on, to punch holes in it. We had some die at home once, because they needed air. Once they turned into frogs we kept them for a short time, then let them loose on the playground near a tree.

I couldn't keep enough frog books in the library

for a while. Oh yeah I also brought a live bullfrog in so the kids could see how huge he was, and how far he could jump. We let him go after a very short time. He needs lots of room and lots of water.

We also have had praying mantis. The kids and I were able to catch a couple different ones. They are very (I hope that is spelled right) They are very colorful and they have live babies if you keep yor water temperature warm. The kids LOVE to watch the baby fish grow!
