Tripod
By Lisa WA

Clip to ScrapBook
Well, let me start with this...if this is REALLY new to you and you're completely overwhelmed, go to Scholastic and use their template. It's much simpler without so many options to get bogged down in.

Tripod is a great
site though, and the one I'm currently using. I'll walk you through the basics and if you need/want more help, you can email me.
1. At the top of your screen is a button that says "new users sign up". Click there and select your plan (I'd go with "use tripod for free", which they bury at the bottom of the screen.) Follow the directions to enroll from there.
2. Once you have an
account, you're going to "Build and Edit", which is a tab on the main Tripod menu. They'll guide you through this process when you're signed up, but I don't remember how it goes. If you get lost, just exit and log in again, then find the build and edit tab on the main screen.
3.From there, choose a type of website under "create a new website". They have a teacher template there, which I used to start mine up.
4. From there, it will suggest background and layout for you. Use the defaults or choose your own.

Hope this helps!
