I was hired after the third week of school!

Last year was my first year of teaching and I was hired after the third week of school! I went into a brand new school that I had never even heard of and tackled 24 kindergartners! Can you imagine what kindergartners act
like after having a temporary substitute teacher for the first three weeks of school? I got one set up day to work in my classroom, but the kids were in there with the sub. My room was awful, but I made it. After school, my parents and boyfriend came up to my school and we worked until 11:00 (as late as we could be at school). I prepared my lesson plans over the weekend and started

my first day on a Monday. I don't remember much about the first week; I just know that I survived! I hope that you are not hired at last minute, but if you are just remember that you can do it! Things don't always work out the way we plan them, but everything works out in the end. I ended up having a wonderful year and many of my parents said they could not believe that it was my first year of teaching.
