Daily and Weekly Folders
By Stacie

Clip to ScrapBook
Hi Darla!
I have a sheet that I run front and back for my HW folders. We are on nine week periods, so I always have one left over. I staple these into each child's HW folder that goes home daily. We work on "listing"
our homework just the way that I write it on the board (as well as our handwriting so parents can read it). The parents have to inital it every night so I know that they saw it. Sometimes special notes have to go home during the week and the parents know that they will find things like that in their child's HW folder. I also tell them on Curriculum night in August that they should
put notes and lunch money in that same folder. I check them every morning while the kids are working on their morning work. My school also does a weekly folder and it goes home on Friday. This contains a sheet that has a weekly conduct and work habits grade. I run my newsletter on brightly colored paper and make sure to put it on top of the children's papers. This is the only day that graded papers go home. Parents have to sign this as well, which really helps when they say that they didn't know their child wasn't doing well in a particular area because ALL graded papers go home in this folder and they have signed it saying that they have seen their work. Hope this helps! Let me know if you need me to mail you copies of those sheets.
