Hello Ginny,
I used a western theme last year with my sixth
graders. I am assuming that you can decorate your
door and its area. You can use a cowboy and perhaps a cow and brands. Also a bale of hay and rope in
a lasso shape. You can get on the
Cowboy Hall of Fame site in Oklahoma City and
find some wonderful worksheets and other information about the lives of cowboys. There is a trivia game also. I decorated my room with red bandanas that I clothespinned to a curtain rod. I used wooden star cutouts that I painted yellow and hot glued them to the clothespins. I had a bulletin board

with a cowboy. I had name tags for studethe

a boot cup from a place I visited. I painted it brown and put silk bluebonnets and Indian paintbrush in it. I tied a strip of bandana print to it. I also dressed in a denim outfit with western jewlery for the first day of school. Hope this help.
