Best Decision Ever! By Bailey in MO

When I saw your message - I had to add my two cents, beause I LOVE being in the same school, too! I was trying to make the same decision last year this time. I changed districts and schools to be closer to home. My daughter| and I were in first grade together (separate classes). This year we are going into second together (I hope she moves up by herself next year!) It is sooooo much easier to be at the same school. Your events are their events. When I have to be at the book fair, fun fair, etc. - she's there, too! For the most part studnets and parents are very sensitive and respect our time together. |
| You will know their friends, the friends' parents, etc. I grew up in the school my mom taught in and loved it so much that I wanted the same for my own child. Life is so much easier being in the same place! It cuts down on child care costs before and after school. There is more together time (in the car, in my classroom before and after school, etc.). The early start was hard for us at first, too - just like anything else you get used to it. We have to be out of the house by 7 a.m. to drop off our 3 year old. It sure pays off when we're out of shcool at 3:00 and still have a few hours of daylight left! A side note - I had triplets in my kndgt. class one year. I only had 15 students and it still worked out great! The three brothers looked and acted very differently - in fact, they didn't "hang around" each other very much!
