I thought of some more info

I looked at your prior post and read what some people had to say. They gave you some excellent information. I thought I would add some details that might also be helpful. If you have a license in another state then you
get a 2 year temp lic. from the state for around $80. This includes your fingerprints and application. Then when you take the PLACE test (I thought it was pretty basic I had a 103 temp at the time I took it and scored 285 out of 300. You need a 220 to pass. I also have horrible test anxiety so I was pleased. I have met several people though who it has taken 4 or 5 times to pass. The
test is $100.) It is hard to get a job in the Denver metro area in teaching. The thing though is that they hire all year round. There are several schools in the area that are year round so they have teachers leave mid year sometimes. One of the posters mentioned the CSAP. The CSAP is like the Terra Nova or ITBS(I think that is right) It carries a lot of weight in the schools funding. It is very stressful but one thing is that at this time the test is 3-12 so the primary grades are not testing but in most schools it is everyones responsibility to prepare the students for the test. There is some grumblings that the state is in such a budget crisis that they may have to cut one of the tests this year. It costs something like 2 million to test and grade just the writing portion.
I can't think of anything else at this time but give me a couple of hours and I am sure I will have more. I hope this is helpful and not annoying.
