-Curb the bathroom usage... :-) In my school the students need partners so this year I gave each child two popsicle sticks (one green and one red). They turned in the green stick when they went to
-Give students responsibilities because they are old enough to start doing things on their own. For example, changing work on bulletin boards, putting important papers in mailboxes, organizing the class library, etc. -Try to seat them in groups...it works well with developing patience and cooperative behavior in the students. -Have a lost and found. Teach kids that when they find things on the floor, take it to the lost and found bin and then if a student loses something, they can go there and look for it. One less problem for you! -Spare pencil can. I put mine near the pencil sharpener and when students find pencils on the floor they take them to the can. When a student cant find their pencil, they go borrow a spare! -I also have a box where students write nice things that they observe other students doing...once a week or every two weeks we share those things and I choose a student who received one to go the the treasure box.
