Borders, general displays, math manipulatives, etc., are all things that can be used in either
- take a look at resource books that are geared for K to 3 or K to 2 - collect things like magazines, calendars, posters, etc., to build a picture collection or have for art projects, etc. - plan out your first few days of school with general plans - most of the time we do things quite similar in both grades for the first few days. - going on a school tour, going into the playground and discussing playground rules and safety, playing get to know you games, etc., Hopefully you'll learn of the decision earlier and can get more focused again. But have fun with all the little things for now until you know which grade to prepare for specifically. Oh yes a few other ideas If you do not have to move classrooms you can set up your desk, the reading corner, library area, listening center, and then add depending on which grade you get.
