Math: manipulatives - snap cubes, blocks, chips, pattern blocks, some simple counting games like chutes & ladders, plus a good math instruction book.
writing stuff - kindergarten size, regular size, lots of extra erasers because we make lots of mistakes in first grade! Red and black marking pens for you, white board markers or chalk (Check to see which you'll have), sets of crayons. art stuff - red, blue, yellow, white and black poster paint, several sets of watercolors, brushes, glitter glue, string, yarn, glue, glue sticks, buttons, googly eyes, paper lunch sacks, paper plates, scissors (fiskers or similar quality) desk stuff - paper clips and clamps, teacher scissors, staplers (get more than one), masking tape, scotch tape, book mending tape or duct tape, safety pins, push pins, file folders, envelopes in several sizes, white out (in first grade we make lots of mistakes...) That's a starter list. You could teach K-1 with less and certainly with MUCH more. I'd add a few good workbooks to photocopy when you really, really need a worksheet activity, and maybe a few books on tape or educational videos if your school doesn't provide any. I'm partial to Discount School Supply as they are inexpensive and have an extensive inventory for lower grades. They won't have the reading materials, though. Good luck and keep your computer humming in Poland. I really want to know how this goes for you!
