Home : 2003 : August : 5
Maybe that nephew of yours will decide to arrive early so you will have a chance to cuddle him before you return to Alberta. My summer has been somewhat different this year as I usually spend it repairing
We were home for 4 days to do laundry, buy food, overcome jet lag and read our mail. Then we left our home to go to Consort, Alberta for a family reunion. After a great five days of visiting with many aunts, uncles, cousins, second cousins, third cousins, and the spouses, we are finally home for the next 3 weeks. Then I have to start back to school and take a first aid course. My husband will probably take my kids out to his parent's/brother's farm to help with harvest during the last week of August while I attend meetings and set up my classroom. The weather has been quite warm but we did have some rain last night. The forest fires in B.C. have made the sky hazy but it is still in the 30's. The grasshoppers are plentiful around Consort and I even saw a live locust there. They have sprayed around my husband's family farm so there are fewer grasshoppers but they say there are more crikets as a result. I read your message about the windstorm where you live. I hope the repairs are not too complicated and that the community can help out. I'm glad that your new home was spared. Enjoy the rest of your summer. Smile, Suezie
