Sheets for HW and Friday Folders

Hi Darla!
Unfortunately, I do not have those sheets typed up so that I could send them to you. I have kind of "collected" things over the years from other teachers. I have thought about modifying my HW sheet for this
year though and plan to do it on the computer. I would be more than glad to send it to you once I get it done. If you want, I could send the other two sheets (to give you an idea of what I use) to your school. I start back to work on August 4, so I could get those copied and in the mail by August 5. Just let me know!
Yes, you are right, I send home two folders. The HW folder

goes home every day except on Fridays. The Friday folder only goes home on Friday and comes back Monday signed. My Friday folder sheet that grades conduct and work habits, lines up with our report card (which has the exact same areas). This seems to make it easier when it gets to report card time, since all of the areas match up and I can quickly look to see which areas need to be improved. Our county gives S+, S, N, and U's for conduct and work habit grades (which is determined by how many checks there are for the week). This corresponds to our report card in the same way. Let me know if this doesn't make sense...
I vary the time for writing down HW from year to year, depending on my schedule. This past year, I did it around 12:35 before we switched for math. From 12:30 -12:45 the children did their afternoon jobs, organized their desks, and wrote down their homework. Then we switched for math, and last they went to Special (art, music, etc). As soon as I got them back to the room, it was time to go home (we end at 2:45) so all of our "end of the day" stuff was already done. You may have to wait and see how your class does and what kind of window you have for them to do this in before deciding on a time. I try to make it as close to the end of the day just in case anything changes or in case an "emergency" reminder note has to go home from me or from the school.
