Make the best choice for YOU By amy

My question is this:Do you think you want the job at the "other" district (the interview you haven't had yet) because it is better for YOU or because it comes with the prestige of being a "great district?" Make sure you | are doing what is best for you and therefore best for the kids you'll be working with. The same situation happened to me... I was granted a job in a very rural, low-income district and then received an interview with a "great" district... more suburban and more middle to high incomes. I took the interview and was not offered the job... I don't know what I would've done had I been | | offered the job. Anyway, it was not meant to be as I LOVE my students at the rural, low-income school. The children are appreciative of EVERYTHING and they love to come to school because for a lot of them it is the most one-on-one time they get with a loving adult! I know some teachers who work at the other, supposedly "better" district who are unhappy. They say the students have attitudes of being better than others and the teachers are in cliques. NOT A PLACE I'D WANT TO BE! So, do what's best for YOU and it will work out. Definitely sign the current contract and go to the interview at the ohter district... find out what you can and make the best decision.
