Reading Area
By Jennifer in OK

Clip to ScrapBook
Reading Area - Maybe you could do something like "Traveling Across America One Book at a Time." You can get those notepads that are in the shape of the US or ones make someo n the computer resembling road signs, laminate,
and write the titles of books with "America" or names of states in them.

SS B-Board - "America the Beautiful" with pictures from across the US or if you have postcards from around the country to post here

Centers - You could name your centers after landmarks that deal with that particular subject: Smithsonian Center(history), Air and Space Center(that one's obvious), Cape Canaveral

(space), Mount Rushmore (Presidents), Statue of Liberty (Math - number of steps, how many points on crown, etc.)

I don't know if this is over the head of your 2nd graders. I'm a 5th (formerly 4th) grade teacher myself, so that is where my train of thought often is!
