I did this a couple of years ago. Each student cut out a white t-shirt from construction paper (8x12- I had a pattern). I showed them several samples of tie-dyed shirts. We talked about the uniqueness of the shirts and compared them to the uniqueness of each student. They created their own designs of tie-dyed shirts (back and front) and wrote their name big enough to see from across the room. I hung up a few "clothes lines" in the classroom and used a clothespin to attach them to the line. There was a bigger shirt (larger than the rest) that said "Hangin' Out in Room B-106". It looked really cool and colorful and the parents enjoyed it for Curriculum Night
