Salaries, however, are relative to the economic environment you live in. I accepted a position in the South (I'm originally from Ohio), and the starting salary for a M. Ed. in Ohio is approx. $33,000. Where I accepted the job, my starting salary is $29,400. However, the cost of living where I'm moving to is MUCH cheaper than where I'm moving from (i.e. gas is 10 cents cheaper/gallon, a 2 bedroom apartment is $150 cheaper than here, etc.). I think it's difficult to compare salaries, as it is relative to the cost of living.
