    Wait until you get hired

A Master's degree is not a plus for some districts if you are looking to get hired. This is because they will have to pay you more. I'm from California, and believe me when I say that if you are in this state, you have 0 years teaching experience with a Master's and you are up against someone with the same qualifications as you with no Master's, the other person would get hired faster. This especially goes for a district that was hit hard by our budget cuts. Most people that I know, including myself, did not get their Master's until after they were hired. We go to school at nights. And, districts in my state do not pay any of your expenses - you do.

My advice is to ask around amongst teachers that you know to see what generally happens in your region. What goes for my state may not apply to you.
