Get ready for a challenge!
By Ana

Clip to ScrapBook
I just finished a year with a child that has Asperger's. He took a lot of my one-on one time. Although I fought hard to get him a 1:1 for the upcoming year, (I had him in third grade), he will be entering fourth grade without an aide. Although every child is different, these are the things I shared with his upcoming teacher:
-Does not understand facial cues( often would have to say things like, "this is a mad face or happy face.
-Although he was brilliant in every way, he did not perform.
-COnstant breaks
-Needs structure, patience, love and care
-Does nto deal well with any change

Be patient and know that you can make all the difference in this child's life.
