Getting HW in By Sarah

I tried something new this past year and it worked well. I have a student check off homework as it is turned in daily. On Friday, if a student does not have ALL homework and class assignments in - ON TIME - they stay in for study hall while 3 of our 5th grade classes go out to Friday Free Time. One teacher stays in for study hall and the other 2 go out with the children. We rotate weekly. This has really helped cut down on incomplete homework.

As per grading homework, the students know ahead of time what will be graded and what we will go over in class.
