parents
By Amy L

Clip to ScrapBook
You get both kinds of parents...helpers and non-involved. A lot of times, if you spell out what they can do for you and your classroom, there will be some that will be involved. Sometimes, they don't know what they could
do to help... maybe haven't had the warmest experience in school themselves. Transportation can be a problem, too, so if you're a neighborhood school, this would be a benefit. I always had parents who would go on trips with us and would provide things for classroom parties, etc. I usually had decent conference participation. You might really have to go out of your way to stay in touch with
the parents of your students. We had parent nights at our school, too, to give them ideas on how to help their children succeed, etc. Sign em up for helping during those nights! Good luck
