RR schedule
By Linda Salisbury

Clip to ScrapBook
Sharon,

I have shared a class with another teacher and taught RR in the morning while my friend taught RR in the afternoon. We both made sure that we were in the classroom for attendance and at the end of the day (about
10 minutes for each). We also discussed classroom management, if a problem arose with a child and the parent had to be contacted, we both were there-it showed the parents that we backed each other up and we were both concerned with their child's behavior. She taught Language Art (reading, grammar, phonics, writing, and spelling) all in the morning (about 3 hours. I taught Math, Science,
PE, Social Studies, Fine Arts, and Writing. We doubled up on writing because we felt that the children really needed to write more in our class. The important thing to remember is that you both have to give and receive. It is hard to give up some of the things that you really consider your ideas for classroom management and teaching style. However, you both have to sit down and discuss who is going to teach what and that both of you have to back each other up and be there for each other on classroom management. I would be happy to answer any other questions that you have concerning your day.
