I student taught 1st grade, kindergarten and now preschool. For my 1st grade & Kindergarten each week I would pick up a new subject to teach (like week 2 I taught math, then week 3 I taught math and social studies, etc) and then during my headweeks I taught everything. I would definately start going to teacher fairs as soon as possible! Even if you don't get a job out of it, it is a great experience, you get to practice your interviewing skills =) Hope this helps. I don't know if different schools or cooperating teachers do it differently. I got a student teaching handbook from my university and it told me everything that I was expected to do. Also talk to your cooperating teacher and supervisor -- they are a lot of help! Good Luck!!
