You will love it even though you will be exhausted for the first three months. Know your curriculum outcomes but don't rush them. Promote taking home books to share. I send them twice a week until Christmas then four nights afterwards. Check your search engine for lots of wonderful sites for for themes, literacy activiites, songs/chants. Encourage writing in journal. Work on class rules and getting to know each other and important staff first. I send a letter to my students a few days before school starts to welcome them to my class. Introduce centers work by using toys. Good luck!
