Clip to ScrapBook
I give each child an index card with their desk number on it and they fill out the index card with personal info. I play a True/False Game about me so that they can get to know me a bit better. They'll show a thumbs up or a thumbs down after I read a statement like Mrs. D has three kids. The kids play Classmate Bingo. We also do some team building games outside such as Common Ground. The kids all stand in a big circle and put down a piece of masking tape to mark their base. I start out in the middle of the circle and say "I have common ground with everyone who love football" and everyone who loves football has to find a new base. There's always one left-over kid who then was to do the same. It gets them moving and they like it.
